2006-2007 Certification Program (CP) Qualifying Exam Dates

The deadlines are fast approaching for internationally educated registered nurses who wish to take the November 8, 2006 and March 14, 2007 Certification Program Qualifying Exam of nursing knowledge, required for licensure in the majority of U.S. states.

Visits to CGFNS Headquarters Require Appointments in Advance

NOTICE: Effective Monday, July 31, 2006 — All applicants and authorized agents wishing to visit the CGFNS headquarters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA will be seen by appointment only.

Appointments are limited to 30 minutes in length and can only be scheduled for the time between 10 AM-3:30 PM ET, Monday-Friday. The space in our reception area is limited so we are asking that visitors bring only one additional person with them to their appointment.

CGFNS Policy for Length of Time Applications May Remain Open, Time Limit for Receipt of Payment, and Refunds

Effective May 1, 2006, applicants applying for the CGFNS Certification Program, Credentials Evaluation Service and VisaScreen® will be given 12 months to meet the requirements of each program. Orders for these three services that have not resulted in the rostering of an applicant to take the Qualifying Exam for the Certification Program, that have not resulted in the issuing of a Credentials Evaluation Service report, or that have not resulted in the issuing of a VisaScreen® Certificate within 12 months of the application date will be closed.

ONLINE APPLICATION STATUS CHECKING

Did you know you can check your status online at www.cgfns.org? The CHECK YOUR STATUS link is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You will be prompted to enter your user name and password. The Check Your Status feature lists the requirements of your application and the status of documents received or waiting to be received.

Here is a list of everything you can do through the CHECK YOUR STATUS ONLINE:

  • check the progress of your application
  • change your contact information
  • submit your educational and professional information to CGFNS for certification and/or verification
  • purchase CGFNS products or services
  • choose the location and date of your Qualifying Examination
  • view your Qualifying Exam scores online, in addition to being able to see your pass/fail status
  • pay for CGFNS services with your credit card


Would You Like to Receive All Correspondence from CGFNS by Email?

Many of our applicants are now receiving all correspondence from CGFNS by email. If you are currently not receiving all correspondence from CGFNS by email and would like to do so, change your Correspondence Preference on our online application system to "Email Only" and verify that we have your correct email address.

Email correspondence is the fastest and most reliable way to receive correspondence from CGFNS. CGFNS periodically verifies the email addresses of registered users to confirm safe delivery of electronic correspondence.

Additional Automatic Email Notifications

CGFNS has added two additional email notifications to applicants to inform them of the status of their application. For international VisaScreen® applicants, if there is a valid email address on file with CGFNS, we will email you the tracking number when your certificate is mailed. Applicants can then track the certificate directly with the express carrier.

For applicants for the Certification Program, CGFNS will send an email or letter to applicants who have passed all requirements for the Certification Program except the English Proficiency requirement. This notice will serve as a reminder to applicant to be sure to schedule themselves to take one of the approved tests for English Proficiency and have the testing company send the results directly to CGFNS.
