The Certification Program and the CGFNS Qualifying Exam®

The CGFNS Qualifying Exam® is a one-day examination that tests your knowledge and understanding of nursing as it is taught and practiced in the United States today. The CGFNS Qualifying Exam® uses objective, multiple-choice and alternate item type questions and is designed by testing experts to help you predict your likelihood of passing the U.S. registered nurse licensure examination, which is called the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses or NCLEX-RN® examination.

The CGFNS examination is divided into two different exam booklets: Nursing Part 1 and Nursing Part 2. Nursing Part 1 includes 150 questions and is given in the morning session. You have two hours and 30 minutes to complete this portion and then have a lunch break. After lunch, you take Nursing Part 2, which is composed of 121 questions. You have two hours to answer these questions.

CGFNS International reserves the right to close any exam center if the situation warrants

Although CGFNS International desires and intends to keep open all test sites established around the world for a given administration of the CGFNS Qualifying Exam®, CGFNS International, in its sole judgment, without limitation, reserves the right to close any exam center for just a specific exam date or indefinitely. Typical reasons for closing an exam site would include that too few applicants requested a center, the threat of a disease outbreak or emerging unstable political conditions that pose a threat to applicants and center management staff. Exam sites may be closed on short notice as the situation dictates.

CGFNS International will not be responsible for any expense, loss or damage resulting from an applicant attending a test venue, and each applicant’s rostering will constitute a release of CGFNS International from any liability therefore, including without limitation, any personal injury or death.

Applicants who do not arrive for their scheduled exam

Applicants who do not attend their scheduled exam are not eligible for refunds. Applicants may change their scheduled exam dates 10 weeks prior to the scheduled exam date by notifying CGFNS International. Request for change must be from the applicant and includes their full name, CGFNS ID number and birth date in writing through postal mail or through the Contact Us form (also on the menu bar at the top of the page) or through CGFNS Connect (also on the menu bar at the top of the page). No changes will be accepted by fax.
